Murchison United NL02 February 2005 ASX,AIM and Media Release 2 February 2005 UPDATE OF COMPANY ACTIVITIES The Company wishes to confirm that following receipt of a preliminary reportfrom SRK Consulting (UK), Murchison has commissioned SRK Consulting to completea further and more detailed review of extensive landholdings in the countries ofNiger, Mali and The Republic of Guinea. SRK's scope will be the review andinterpretation of existing mines department information in each of the relevantcountries to assess the prospectivity of the landholding package for uraniumwith a view to assisting Murchison in deciding whether to pursue application(s)for appropriate exploration tenure over some or all of the subject areas. SRK have estimated that the review will take 2-3 months. SRK will commence their review in Guinea where Murchison has been advised thatfor SRK to conduct their review, Murchison will be granted an explorationlicence with a 3-year term at nominal cost. This is not equivalent to anexploration licence in Australia and carries no minimum spend or on goingobligations and the Company is entitled to surrender the licence at any timewithout liability. SRK will then review the opportunities in Niger and Maliwhere it will apply for such reconnaissance or exploration permits as arerequired for SRK to conduct its detailed review. The company is also investigating opportunities for uranium projects in EasternEurope. Murchison will also conduct a review of the Company's existing land holding inQueensland. Shareholders will continue to be provided with regular updates of Murchison'sconsideration of these, and any other, opportunities that the board of Murchisonbelieves are worthy of considered investigation.
