UNITED UTILITIES ANNOUNCES THE DISPOSAL OF ITS INVESTMENT IN NORTHERN GAS

NETWORKS

United Utilities today announces that it has agreed the disposal of its entire 15 per cent investment in Northern Gas Networks Holdings Limited to the existing shareholders* for a cash consideration of 85.75 million. Completion of the transaction is expected by the end of 2009.
