UK Wastewater Contract Win

Hydro-Sludge Screen contract demonstrates AMP5 spending progress

Hydro International (AIM: HYD), a leading provider of environmentally sustainable and innovative products for the control and treatment of water, announces that its UK Wastewater division has won a contract worth £1m for its innovative Hydro-SludgeTM Screen product.

The order will see Hydro install Hydro-SludgeTM Screens during 2012 at 10 municipal wastewater plants across the East of England. The investment is part of a major sludge treatment improvement project being undertaken under the AMP5 capital spending programme.

Hydro-SludgeTM Screens, which have been successfully operating in the UK for a number of years, were introduced by Hydro into the US during 2010. Hydro was pleased to report in its Final Results this month that the US Wastewater division received its first orders for the Hydro-SludgeTM Screen during 2011, culminating in the December 2011 award of a $1.7m contract expected to run through until 2013 for a major wastewater treatment plant in Washington DC. This order represented the Group's largest Hydro-SludgeTM Screen order to date.
