NetDimensions and Active Mind Solutions wins tender for UK Government Funded Program

Hong Kong, 19 May 2008 NetDimensions, a global provider of performance, knowledge and learning management systems, together with their affiliate partner Active Mind Solutions, has been selected by the Artemis Children's Workforce Induction Project, supported by six local authority areas in the West Midlands: Stoke-on-TrentStaffordshireSandwellDudleyHerefordshire and Warwickshire.

The Artemis Project, is supported by e learning content, designed to provide a sound induction of learning and development for the "one children's workforce", that aims to provide an easily accessible induction program for all people working with children, young people and their families which, in turn, will underpin the UK Government's national framework as set out in the Every Child Matters: Change for Children (2004) and Youth Matters: Next Steps (2006) initiatives.

The NetDimensions Enterprise Knowledge Platform (EKP) learning management system will be used to deliver and track the programand will support a broad and diverse set of users that includes social care practitioners, teachers, fire-fighters, health visitors, child minders, private nurseries, private foster care givers, private schools, children's entertainers and independent, leisure centers, volunteers and volunteer organizations.

Users will be registered and assessed using EKP and upon completion of the program will receive an Artemis certificate that will be recognized, acknowledged and transferable across the children and young people's workforce.

While the initial focus will be for 'new starters' the user base is ultimately expected to be around 350,000 across the project area, with other areas around the country already showing interest.

Rachel Faulkner, Project Manager of the Artemis projectwhich is led by Stoke on Trent,  said "We recognized that we had a challenge with the wide geographical spread of staff in the project areas and quickly concluded that e-learning provided the means of achieving our project goals. As we further examined various Learning Management Systems to deliver the e-learning and related courses, we found that EKP best met our needs for functionality, flexibility, overall accessibility and user friendliness."

Added Mike Higgins, NetDimensions Sales Director EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), "NetDimensions is honored to be associated with a program that aims to improve the lives of children, young people and their families.

"The aim of Artemis is to support the integrated approach embodied in the 'Common Core of Knowledge and Skills' scheme introduced by the government so that all those in the children's workforce - across the public, private, voluntary and community sectors - can share an understanding of issues, and be supported in working more closely together. The selection of EKP is a ringing confirmation that our platform best meets the needs and best embraces the spirit of the Artemis Project."
