UBC signs iTunes Tagging agreement for 12 GMG radio stations
UBC Media Group (AIM: UBC, 'the Company'), the multimedia content and services company, has signed an agreement with GMG Radio to provide iTunes Tagging functionality to GMG's 12 UK radio stations with their 5 million listeners.
iTunes Tagging enables listeners to use the click wheel on iPod nano to tag the song they're listening to on the radio station. iTunes then creates a list of all the user's tagged songs for easy preview or purchase when a user syncs their iPod nano to their iTunes account.
Simon Cole, Chief Executive, said:
"iTunes Tagging is exactly the type of new multimedia development that we want to be involved in - it's still at an early stage but should it be widened to the other Apple products, we will be in a very good place to exploit that development."
Stuart Taylor, GMG Radio Chief Executive, said
"We are delighted to provide this service to our audiences, further enhancing their listening experience to our stations."
