Announcement of Turbine purchase for High Haswell Wind Farm
Renewable Energy Generation Limited ("REG" or the "Company") (AIM: WIND), the UK renewable energy group, today announces that it has purchased two Vestas V80 2MW wind turbines for its consented site at High Haswell in County Durham.
The turbines are scheduled to be delivered to site in November and the project is expected to be operational by late December 2010. The repowered wind farm is expected to produce approximately 11GWh of output per annum.
REG acquired the High Haswell project in January for £0.8 million and development targets are in line with those stated in the company announcement on 18 January 2010.
Commenting on developments, Andrew Whalley, Chief Executive Officer, said:
"These two new turbines, along with the other projects we are currently constructing at Goonhilly Downs and Loscar, will more than double REG's wind output to around 100GWh per annum. This further emphasises our ability to acquire and develop small wind farms in the UK. "
