CCH Approval of Extension

Further to the announcement of 21 April 2016 the Board of Independent Resources plc ("Independent Resources" or the "Company"), the AIM listed oil and gas exploration and production company (AIM:IRG) with activities in Tunisia, Egypt and Italy, provides the following update regarding the Ksar Hadada hydrocarbon exploration permit, Tunisia (the "Permit").

The Company is pleased to announce that it has now received confirmation that the meeting of the Comité Consultatif des Hydrocarbures ("Consultative Commission on Hydrocarbons" or "CCH"), held on 5 May 2016, approved the extension of the Ksar Hadada permit until 6 August 2017. This will be formally gazetted in due course.

Independent Resources continues to progress discussions with potential farm-in partners to fund planned activities on the licence.

"We are very pleased to have received CCH approval which we feel reflects the hard work and competent operatorship we have demonstrated in the last two years.

This extension increases the time available to potential farm-in partners to complete exploration programme commitments and we will continue our discussions with them in order to prepare to meet our work obligations."
