Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 19 March 2010, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris 1996 Executive Share Plan and the Spectris Performance Share Plan:

15,000 shares at 525 pence per share (1996 scheme)

495 shares at 5 pence per share (PSP)

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,249,914 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,755,209.
