TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 4 April 2007 it transferred 6,654,521 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury for an award to participants under the `Hays plc Performance Share Plan'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 107,926,178 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,456,170,388 (excluding treasury shares).
