Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 2 December 2009, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris Performance Share Plan and the Spectris Savings Related Share Option Scheme:

5,964 shares at 640 pence per share (PSP)

610 shares at 618 pence per share (SAYE)

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,505,385 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,499,738.
