Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 21 April 2010, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris Savings Related Share Option Scheme:

339 shares at 765.5 pence per shares

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,213,467 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,791,656.
