Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 7 December 2009, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris Performance Share Plan:

934 shares at 5 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,503,324 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,501,799.
