Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 2 March 2011, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris Savings Related Share Option Scheme:

458 shares at 837 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,062,821 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,942,302.
