Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 11 December 2009, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris Performance Share Plan:

934 shares at 5 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,500,664 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,504,459.
