TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 13 March 2007 it transferred 29,852 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury to satisfy the Hays plc Long-Term Co-Investment Plan maturity and sale of `matching shares'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 111,665,561 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,452,431,005 (excluding treasury shares).
