Cable & Wireless PLC25 July 2007 Cable and Wireless plc Treasury Shares Cable and Wireless plc ("the Company") advises that on 24 July 2007 the Companysold 8,275 treasury shares for cash at a price of £1.45 per share in relation tothe conversion of its 4% Convertible Bond due 2010 into Ordinary Shares of 25peach ("Ordinary Shares"). Subsequent to the sale, the Company holds a total of 45,665,878 Ordinary Sharesin treasury. As at close of business on 24 July 2007, the Company had 2,470,553,379 OrdinaryShares (excluding treasury shares) in issue.
