Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 4 June 2009, the following ordinary shares have been transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris Performance Share Plan:

25,097 shares of 5 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,619,677 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,385,446.
