TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 6 September 2007 it transferred 23,415 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc 1995 Executive Share Option Scheme'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 128,548,783 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,435,524,368 (excluding treasury shares).
