Spectris plc announces that on 4 January 2013, the following ordinary shareswere transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share optionallotments under the Spectris Savings Related Share Option Scheme:

502 shares at 723 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary sharesin issue (excluding the total of 7,611,877 ordinary shares now held intreasury) is 117,393,246.
