TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 8 February 2008 it transferred 12,173 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc Irish Share Save Scheme - 2004 offer'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 61,521,570 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,402,574,996 (excluding treasury shares).
