Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 19 July 2011, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the 1999 Executive Share Option Scheme:

1,000 shares at 357.5 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 8,787,344 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 116,217,779.
