Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 20 April 2010, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris 1999 Executive Share Option Scheme:

1,163 shares at 589 pence per shares

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,213,806 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,791,317.
