TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 27 June 2008 it transferred 30,960 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc Sharesave Scheme - 2004 offer'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 86,250,977 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,377,845,589 (excluding treasury shares).
