Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 8 December 2010, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the 1996 Executive Share Plan and the Spectris Savings Related Share Option Scheme:

5,000 shares at 357.5 pence per share (ESP)

869 shares at 837 pence per share (SAYE)

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,077,808 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,927,315.
