Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 15 March 2010, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris 1996 Executive Share Plan and the 1999 Executive Share Option Scheme:

700 shares at 525 pence per share (1996 scheme)

1,930 shares at 525 pence per shares (1999 scheme)

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,317,156 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,687,967.
