Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 5 June 2008, the following ordinary shares have been transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris 1999 Executive Share Option Scheme:

1,025 shares at 395.731 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,696,935 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,308,188.
