TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 9 June 2008 it transferred 120,331 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc Sharesave Scheme - 2004 offer'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 79,347,725 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,384,748,841 (excluding treasury shares).
