Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 10 March 2011, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the 1996 Executive Share Plan (ESP) and the Spectris Performance Share Plan (PSP):

1,000 shares at 357.5 pence per share (ESP)

199 shares at 5 pence per share (PSP)

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 9,057,761 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 115,947,362.
