Hammerson plc transaction in own shares

On 13 May 2008, Hammerson plc transferred 450,000 ordinary shares of 25p held as treasury shares to the Hammerson Employee Benefit Trust.

The Company's total issued share capital on that date comprised 289,371,663 ordinary shares of 25p each with one voting right per share in addition to the balance of 1,000,000 shares held in treasury after the above transfer.
