Spectris plc Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 18th April 2012, the following ordinary shares were transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share option allotments under the Spectris Performance Share Plan:

7,235 shares at 5 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary shares in issue (excluding the total of 7,812,394 ordinary shares now held in treasury) is 117,l92,729.
