Transfer of Treasury Shares

Spectris plc announces that on 18 December 2012, the following ordinary shareswere transferred from treasury stock for the purposes of employee share optionallotments under the Spectris Savings Related Share Option Scheme:

476 shares at 723 pence per share

Following the above transfer, the total number of Spectris plc ordinary sharesin issue (excluding the total of 7,615,262 ordinary shares now held intreasury) is 117,389,861.
