TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 9 March 2007 it transferred 19,684 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury to satisfy the Hays plc Long-Term Co-Investment Plan maturity and sale of `matching shares'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 111,195,413 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,452,901,153 (excluding treasury shares).
