TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc advises that on 13 September 2007 it transferred 45,624 Ordinary Shares currently held in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc 1995 Executive Share Option Scheme'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 130,871,786 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,433,224,780 (excluding treasury shares).
