Character Group PLC24 April 2007 The Character Group plc 24 April 2007 The Character Group plc (the 'Group' or 'Company') Transaction in Own Shares As part of the Group's stated objective to enhance shareholder value, theCompany advises that is has today purchased in the market for cancellationthrough Charles Stanley Securities 190,000 ordinary shares in the Company at aprice of 200 pence per share. This represents approximately 0.42% of the issued share capital of the Company(excluding shares held in treasury). Following the cancellation of these shares,the Company has 45,429,837 ordinary shares in issue (excluding 979,322 ordinaryshares in the Company held in Treasury). The Directors will continue to monitor the position and will, if appropriate,make further purchases of the Company's own shares.
