HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 16 September 2011 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 104,330 of its ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 286.4988 pence per share. The highest price paid was 287.5 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 283.4 pence per share.

Following the above purchase, the Company has now bought back 8,015,626 shares for cancellation and 5,449,620 for transfer into treasury, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
