SHARE REPURCHASE PROGRAMME
CRH plc announces that on 24th September 2008, UBS Limited purchased, on behalf of the Company, 66,000 Ordinary Shares of €0.32 each in CRH plc at prices between €15.81 and €16.50 per Ordinary Share. The purchased shares will be held as Treasury Shares.
CRH plc also announces that on 24th September 2008 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 8,971 Ordinary Shares at prices between €10.63 and €17.99 per Ordinary Share and between £7.18 and £12.38 per Ordinary Share.
Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 16,331,635 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 531,788,801.
