Transaction in Own Shares

TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 26 October 2011 it transferred 10,715 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans. Of these the transfer price for 7,735 shares was £6.5448 and for the remaining 2,980 shares the transfer price was £nil.

Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 4,357,181 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 146,203,287 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
