Purchase of own securities

Imperial Tobacco has today, 24 April 2014, purchased 101,354 ordinary shares at an average price of 2540.32 pence per ordinary share. The highest price paid was 2558 pence per ordinary share and the lowest 2515 pence per ordinary share.

The purchased shares will all be held in treasury.

Following the above purchase, Imperial Tobacco holds 76,669,692 ordinary shares in treasury.

The total number of ordinary shares in issue, excluding ordinary shares held in treasury, is 959,330,308.
