Purchase of own shares
Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore") announces that on 28 October 2008 it purchased 400,491 ordinary shares of 0.01p each at an average price of 132.618 pence per ordinary share. These shares will be held as treasury shares.
The highest price paid was 137.63 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 125.00 pence per share.
Following these purchases, Ashmore holds 2,353,730 ordinary shares as treasury shares and has 706,571,270 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares). Ashmore shareholders should use 706,571,270 as the denominator to determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in Ashmore under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
