Thomas Cook Group plc announces that on 04 July 2008 it purchased 407,335 ordinary shares for cancellation. The highest price paid per share was 213.50 pence (excluding expenses) and the lowest price paid was 204.00 pence (excluding expenses).

As a result of these purchases Thomas Cook Group plc will purchase 455.956 ordinary shares in aggregate from Arcandor AG and KarstadtQuelle Freizeit GmbH at a price of 206.50 pence per share, which is the average price paid for the shares reported above.
