RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 23rd December 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 183,968 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €18.8545 and at a price of £10.8564 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transactions, CRH plc holds 12,389,405 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 698,096,515.
