Diageo PLC06 October 2005 Diageo plc announces that it has today purchased through CSFB Europe Ltd1,500,000 ordinary shares at a price of 832.74 pence per share. The purchasedshares will all be held as treasury shares. Following the above purchase, Diageo plc holds 113,664,000 ordinary shares astreasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding sharesheld as treasury shares) is 2,936,783,922.
