Whitbread PLC26 January 2006 Whitbread PLC - Transaction in own shares Whitbread PLC announces that on 25 January 2006 it purchased 68,154 of itsordinary shares at an average price of 1023.62 pence per ordinary share. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares. Following the abovepurchase, Whitbread PLC holds 1,002,953 ordinary shares as treasury shares.
