Transaction in Own Shares
Tate & Lyle PLC (the "Company") announces that on 7 July 2011 it purchased through Citigroup Global Markets UK Equity Limited 700,000 of its ordinary shares.
The highest price paid per share was 642.50 pence and the lowest price paid per share was 628.50 pence.
The Company intends to hold these shares in Treasury.
Following the purchase of these shares, the Company holds 802,783 of its shares in Treasury and has 467,339,838 shares in issue (excluding shares held in Treasury). This number represents the total voting rights in the Company and may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Tate & Lyle PLC under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
