Transaction in Own Shares

EMPLOYEE BENEFIT TRUST

National Express Group PLC (the "Company") announces that IFG Corporate Services Limited, as trustee of the National Express Group PLC Employee Benefit Trust(the "EBT") has purchased 475,000 ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the capital of the Company ("Shares") at an average price of 190.3652 pence per Share on 18 June 2012.

Immediately following the above transaction, the EBT held 1,376,668 shares, representing approximately 0.269% of the Company's issued share capital. It is anticipated that all Shares held by the EBT will ultimately be used to satisfy awards and options granted under the Company's various share incentive arrangements.
