Transaction in Own shares

McBride PLC ("the Company") announces that on 22 September 2009, it purchased through Investec 200,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 188.5p per share. The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury. 

Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 1,226,589 ordinary shares in treasury and has a total of 179,813,712 ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) in issue.
