27 May 2009 FirstGroup plc FirstGroup plc - Transactions in Own Shares
FirstGroup plc (the "Company") announces that on 27 May 2009 it purchased from J.P. Morgan Cazenove Limited 100,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 370.2471 pence per share. The purchased shares will be held as treasury shares.
The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury to satisfy anticipated exercises of participants' share options in the Company's Save as You Earn Scheme.
Following the above purchase, the Company holds 237,253 ordinary shares in treasury, and has 481,829,917 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
