RE-ISSUE OF TREASURY SHARES 

CRH plc announces that on 1st April 2009 it transferred to participants in its employee share schemes 104,855 Ordinary Shares at prices between €11.8573 and €13.2155 per Ordinary Share.

Following the above transaction, CRH plc holds 15,686,730 Ordinary Shares in Treasury. The number of Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding Treasury Shares) is 684,903,600.
