HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 23 September 2011 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 85,302 of its ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 306.0461 pence per share. The highest price paid was 310.0 pence per share and the lowest price paid was 300.4 pence per share.

Following the above purchase, the Company has now bought back 8,139,183 shares for cancellation and 5,449,620 for transfer into treasury, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
