Transaction in Own Shares

Sports Direct announces that on 31 October 2016 it purchased 79,776 of its ordinary shares from Citigroup Global Markets Limited (acting as the Company's broker) on the London Stock Exchange at a price of 279.0 pence per share. The purchased shares will all be held as treasury shares.

Following the above purchase, the Company holds 47,270,890 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding shares held as treasury shares) is 593,331,479.

In accordance with DTR 5.6.1 of the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules, the Company is required to notify the market of the total number of voting rights and capital in the Company as at the end of each calendar month in which an increase or decrease has occurred.

The issued share capital of the Company is comprised of 640,602,369 ordinary shares of 10p each. As 47,270,890 of these ordinary shares are held as treasury shares, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 593,331,479. This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
